Runners splash through new route

A total of 62 runners, walkers, and visitors braved wet and muddy conditions over the weekend to complete the Sunrise-on-Sea parkrun along its new Rainbow Seedlings route.

The challenging 5km track, which combined elements of the previous Sunrise-on-Sea route with the newly introduced Rainbow Seedlings section, saw dedicated local participants splash through the course to reach the finish line.

Among those celebrating key achievements was Garreth Schuch, who completed his 50th parkrun milestone.

Schuch crossed the finish line in a time of 35:35 mins, scanning in at position 17.

Though wet underfoot conditions kept him off his personal best of 30:39, the milestone was warmly celebrated by fellow parkrunners with a celebratory cake shared after the event.
