Cambridge stars shine at Eistedfod

Cambridge High pupils made their mark at the prestigious Buffalo City Eisteddfod Special Prize Winners’ Concert on Monday. The event celebrated outstanding young talent from across KuGompo City .

The special concert showcased top achievers from schools across the metro, with several Cambridge High pupils earning top honours, medals, and trophies for their exceptional performances in speech, drama, and literature categories. In the performance section, Liso Swartz was selected to represent the Poetry category, delivering a confident and compelling performance.

Swartz was also awarded a medal as one of the top achievers in poetry.

Joining Swartz on the medal winners’ list were Aqhama Gwadiso for Sight Reading, Yolanda Fekisi for her Monologue performance, and Eyiva Mhata for Intetho Yasesidlangalaleni (isiXhosa Prose).

Cambridge High pupils also dominated the trophy categories, taking home ‘Best in Category’ awards.

The quartet of Aqhama Gwadiso, Tahlia Loots, Cwenga Luthuli, and Uzile Mojake scooped the trophy for Best Group Theme.

Inakho Mbenya was awarded the trophy for Best Intetho Yasesidlangalaleni (isiXhosa Prose) for outstanding performance in the category.

The school congratulated all the pupils for their excellent performances.
