WE LOVE IT: Selborne Primary travelled to Queenstown for their first cricket derby this year. The U13A and U11A teams played T20 matches on Friday afternoon and 50-over games were played on Saturday.
CREAM OF THE CROP: Cambridge High School had its annual Academic Awards assembly on Friday, January 20, where it acknowledged the pupils who had achieved academically in their final exams last year. Pictured are the recipients of the school's Aloe Award, which is awarded to pupils who attained an aggregate of above 80%. Cambridge High is very proud of these pupils and looks forward to their future results. Pupils, from left, are Vanessa Annan, Nicole Saunders, Logan Beukes, Masonwabe Yase, Jasmine Pylman and Donique Brown. Celine Barnard is not pictured. Also absent are last year's matric pupils who received their Aloe Awards, Elaine Barnard, Joanna Chan, Natasha Nagel and Bethany Robinson. Congratulations.
GREAT START: The new Grade 8s of Clarendon High School enjoyed their orientation week when schools reopened this year.

YOUNG LEADERS: At a special induction ceremony last Friday, the new prefect body of Gonubie Primary School were handed their badges by the headmaster, Cyril Prinsloo. The head prefects in the front row are, from left, Anke Gericke (deputy head girl), Siya Sotshana (head boy), Nande Dlulane (head girl) and Jared Swart (deputy head boy).
GOOD WORKS: Two boys, Connor Maree and Max Jansen, were honoured at the Local Heroes Awards ceremony held at the ICC last year, for showing initiative and raising money for charity. The Daily Dispatch/Jhonson and Jhonson Local Heroes recognises the good work people do to uplift the community and help the needy. With them, at the handover of the raised money is SPCA's Allen Westerberg and CHOC regional manager, Debbie Kleinenberg, far right.
WALK THE TALK: Thando Dyasi is a dedicated pupil of Hudson Park High School's Public Speaking Society. He has been chosen to represent South Africa at the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Competition in Sydney, Australia in April. He also came third in the Eastern Cape and first on the Boarder in the NMMU/PWC Accounting Olympiad.
