STAR READERS: George Randell Primary pupils, Sibabalwe Xolisa (Grade 1) and Yerusha Moodley (Grade 2), participated in the Department of Education District Reading Competition. Both pupils placed second in their respective grade categories.
DRAWING INSPIRATION: Hudson Park High School has had a new mural of a tree painted in one of the quads. The significance of the tree is that it will have all of the pupils and staff's fingerprints placed on it. The leaves and the roots indicate the core values that are presented in the pledge, regarding the school being a united, diverse, respectful, generational, nurturing, loyal and holistic family.

PRIZE WINNER: Port Rex Technical High School's Keegan Kroutz was awarded the Rotary Award and the Rotary Floating Trophy for 2016 at the school's prizegiving recently.

UNITY OF PURPOSE: Hudson Park High Grade 11s clambered onto buses and headed to Hobbiton on Hogsback for a camp earlier this year. They enjoyed a multitude of activities including camp Olympics, leadership workshops, hiking, abseiling, team and individual challenges. New friendships were forged through difficulty and fun

ART FOR ALL: Grant, Matthew and Olivia Berndt have a look at some of the art on display at Stirling Primary recently. Parents and pupils enjoyed the school's art exhibition which features more than 1000 artworks. Due to the limited number of entries in local and national exhibitions and eisteddfods, this exhibition gives more pupils the opportunity of seeing their work on display. Pieces could also be purchased and the pupils and art department share the proceeds which adds another fun element for pupils.
