Someone in Colesberg could be sitting on a fortune without even knowing it.
A Lotto jackpot worth R65,186,997.40 remains unclaimed after the winning Quick Pick ticket was bought at a retail outlet in Colesberg for just R20.
The ticket matched all six winning numbers in the Lotto draw held on 31 December 2025. The winning numbers were 4, 5, 10, 16, 22 and 45, with the bonus ball 25.
With the prize still unclaimed, National Lottery operator Sizekhaya is urging anyone who purchased a Lotto ticket in Colesberg around New Year’s Eve to check their tickets carefully.
In a close-knit town such as Colesberg, the winner could be someone locals see every day, unaware that they have become a multi-millionaire. The ticket may have been forgotten in a wallet, handbag, drawer or even tucked away among household papers.
“It would be heartbreaking for such a life-changing prize to go unclaimed simply because someone forgot about a ticket,” said Fundi Sithebe, chief operating officer of Sizekhaya, home of the National Lottery.
Lottery winners have 365 days from the date of the draw to claim their prize, meaning the deadline for this jackpot is fast approaching.
Sizekhaya is encouraging all Lotto players who bought tickets in Colesberg around the end of December 2025 to take a few minutes to locate their tickets and check the numbers.
